Our mission is to rescue abandoned cats in North Texas, nurture them in loving foster homes, and work to place them safe and happy fur-ever homes.

The Animal Rescue Crusaders of Texas is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) all-volunteer animal rescue and adoption organization based in Plano, TX. Our mission is to rescue and find homes for at-risk animals. We save animals from local shelters in the Collin, Dallas, and Fort Worth area, rescue abandoned animals, and take in owner surrenders to the extent that our resources allow.

Once we rescue an animal, we immediately provide any veterinary care needed, including vaccinations and spaying/neutering. We then place our animals in foster homes. Through our foster homes, we provide a safe environment where we can nurture and rehabilitate our rescued animals. We promote our animals through adoption events, Petfinder, our website, social media, and our presence in Petco stores, in order to find them safe and loving forever homes. Meet and greets between potential adopters and animals are required and are a great way for the adopters to learn more and see if they will be a good match.

Additionally, we actively promote animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty to animals. We also educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering, and assist local TNR (trap, neuter, return) projects for feral colonies.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  1. FOSTERING

The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can rescue! We rescue strays, shelter pets, and animals in hoarding situations. When you provide a foster home, the pet’s veterinary care is all covered by ARC Rescue. As long as you have a spare room to house your foster pet, you’re all set! Being loved and nurtured in a foster home can help socialize more timid pets, and it gives them a place to live until finding their forever home.

  1. CONDO CLEANING

Our pets are rotated between foster homes and the cat condos in 4 locations of Petco. The Petco condos allow them to be seen by more people, providing a greater chance at adoption! We are always in need of volunteers to maintain these cat condos. In 1 hour or less per week, you can help keep maintain these cat condos. Condo cleaning entails emptying litter boxes, filling the food and water bowls, and making sure the cats look healthy and happy. Oh – and providing some love, too!

  1. MONETARY DONATIONS

Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and help keep our rescue group alive! We are an all-volunteer organization. Our funding mainly comes from donations from people like you! Donations go into our pets’ medical fund. Each pet we get in is immediately taken to the vet to have a full health-checkup and be spayed or neutered; often, further veterinary care is needed. As a beneficiary of the Melon Dash 10K, 5K & Fun Run, we have a fundraising platform that allows you to donate directly to our organization.  Visit the Melon Dash Registration page to donate and make a difference in the lives of our furry friends.
