I began running a couple times a year a couple of years ago. In 2023 I stated taking it seriously and now I run 5 to 6 times a week. The running community has been amazing and supportive as I’ve begun this journey. My first organized run was Pumkin Spice a few years ago and I was slow. I did the 5k in 1hr05min and some change. My pace has significantly improved and now I can complete a 5k in under 40 minutes. I’ve also lost over 120lbs since my first run. Pumpkin Spice is a yearly run for me. I’ll be doing the half this year. I love volunteering with Run Project and if nothing else will help at the packet pickups almost every race.
