I didn’t grow up a runner, and I actually hated running at first. But everything changed in 2012 when a friend offered me an extra bib to the Rock ’n’ Roll Half Marathon. I said yes, not realizing that single decision would spark a lifelong passion. From that first finish line, I was hooked.
A few years later, I took on the Dallas Marathon in 2016, qualified for Boston, and proudly ran the 2018 Boston Marathon. Since then, I’ve completed 43 marathons and counting.
Running has become how I start my day. It grounds me, centers me, and keeps me balanced. Along the way, I’ve met lifelong friends in running groups and even on buses to the start line. The running community has given me so much joy, connection, and purpose, and I can’t imagine my life without it.
