When I tell people I actually enjoy running, they always ask, “Why? No one’s chasing you.” Funny enough, even the Bible mentions that: “A wicked person runs away even when nobody is chasing him…” (Proverbs 28:1).
I definitely wasn’t a runner growing up—I was the kid watching mukbangs with a bag of chips. But after losing 60 lbs in 2020, I decided to give running a try. It wasn’t love at first stride, but consistency built the connection.
My first race was the St. Patrick’s 5K in 2024, and now here I am with a half marathon under my belt. I joined RunItUp Dallas last summer, and that community changed everything. Running with people who share your passion makes every mile lighter.
Mental health is my “why.” That post-run clarity and sense of peace is unmatched. The full marathon? Still loading… but it’s coming!
