A little about me.
I am a registered nurse, wife, mom and love anything outdoors. I have been married to my best friend for 31 years. We have two wonderful sons, 19 and 24. They have all of my heart and keep me going.

Why running?
The one place I can always find my calm is through fitness, especially through running. I have lost count of the number of 5k, 10k, half marathons I have completed over the years. I have run two marathons; one does not lose count of those. Each of these distances special. Most including friends, some solo, some with my sons, those supporting special causes, unique venues, and not always but often with a goal time in mind. I can be a bit competitive, but mostly with myself.
Running is my time to reset, refuel and refocus. It simply gives me confidence that spills over in other areas of my life. As a mom, being a good role model for my boys by caring for my physical and mental health has always been important. We can’t take care of everyone else if we don’t take care of ourselves, too.

Celebrate those running friends!
Running friends are an extra special gift. Most of my best friends I have met through the running community. Runners are often tenacious and stubborn, we never give up or stop trying to accomplish a goal. We all need a friend like that. A friend who continues to encourage and support us.
So, grab your friends and family and join us. We will be cheering for you at the mile you’re in!
