The One Ale of a Trail Run brings runners to the scenic Lakefront Trail in Little Elm, Texas for a morning of dirt miles, lake views, and a great post-run atmosphere. Whether you’re chasing a strong effort or just enjoying the rhythm of the trail, this event is designed for runners who love a good course and an even better finish line.

Choose between 3 miles, 5 miles, or 9 miles of runnable trail winding through one of North Texas’ most beautiful lakefront parks. The course is approachable, fast enough to push the pace, and fun enough to take it all in.

When you cross the finish line, the day is just getting started. Grab a cold beer, pull up a lawn chair, hang out with friends, and enjoy music and the laid-back trail community vibe that makes this event special.

Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner, a road runner trying dirt for the first time, or just someone who enjoys a great run followed by a great time, One Ale Off-Trail is the perfect way to spend a fall morning.

Find answers to common inquiries about race results, timing, and result disputes.

Yes! All three distances (3 Mile, 5 Mile, and 9 Mile) are professionally chip timed by Run Project. You’ll receive an official finish time, live results, and can compare your performance with other runners in your distance.

Yes. The course is designed to be enjoyable for runners of all experience levels, but participants should be able to maintain approximately a 16-17 minute per mile pace to finish before course support begins closing. Final time limits will be published before race day.

One Ale of a Trail is a rain-or-shine event. Trail running is part of the adventure, and light rain can make for an even more memorable experience! If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, we’ll communicate any schedule changes through email and social media before race day. We will be monitoring the integrity of the trail.

Yes! Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, overall masters, and the top finishers in each age group. Every participant also receives a custom bottle opener finisher medal upon completing the course.

Yes. If your plans change, Race Roster allows participants to transfer their registration to another runner or transfer to another eligible Run Project event before the published deadline. Visit your Race Roster account for available transfer options.

Free parking is available near the start and finish area at Beard Park. Parking attendants and event signage will help direct participants on race morning. We recommend arriving early to allow time to park and walk to the start.

The course follows the scenic Lakefront Trail in Little Elm and features mostly crushed granite, packed dirt, and natural trail surfaces with a few bridges and lakeside sections. The course is very runnable, making it an excellent introduction to trail running while still being fun for experienced trail runners.

Absolutely! This race was designed for everyone—from first-time trail runners to experienced trail enthusiasts. The well-maintained trails, beautiful Lake Lewisville scenery, and choice of 3, 5, or 9 miles make it easy to pick the distance that’s right for you. If you’ve always wanted to try trail running, this is a great place to start.

For the safety of all participants, dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course. The trail includes natural terrain, narrow sections, and bridges that are not suitable for strollers or pets during the event. We appreciate your understanding as we work to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Yes! Aid stations will be located along the course with water and hydration available to help keep runners fueled throughout the race. The exact locations will be announced closer to race day, and every participant will also enjoy refreshments waiting at the finish line—including a well-earned post-race beer for participants 21+.
