Our goal is simple – to help introduce you to a brand whose singular focus is to design and manufacture the best athletic hats in the world.
Lots of companies have hats. What’s different about Fury?
While Fury Athletix officially launched in Fall 2021, our story actually began over 3 years ago. After decades of playing nearly every sport you could imagine, our founder, Jeff Medici, realized there was a significant gap in the athletic headwear space. While countless apparel companies offered hats, few, if any, focused exclusively on providing athletic headwear with both great style AND the highest performance. Jeff founded Fury Athletix with the goal of designing and constructing athletic headwear for those individuals who strive to reach and exceed their athletic goals every day.
What’s the X about?
Good question! Right off the bat, people notice that we spell Athletix with an X. We didn’t just spell athletics with an “X’ to be different – we did it with intent and purpose. First, with most hats, it’s difficult to quickly discern what brand of hat someone is wearing. With that in mind, we challenged ourselves to come up with a design feature that ensured our brand would be easily identifiable with just a quick glance. Ultimately, we decided on stitching two intersecting stripes forming a perfect “X’ on the top and sides of every one of our hats. Second, most people recognize the “X” as the universal symbol for a multiplier. Since our goal was to create products that allowed athletes to multiply their passion, energy and effort with a high-performance hat, we felt it was critical to have the “X” in our brand name. Hence, FURY ATHLETIX!
From the starting line, Fury has been about one thing — helping athletes achieve more. Our hats are built for sweat, designed for competition, and worn by anyone and everyone who goes out every day to earn a win – like running the Pumpkin Spice 5K, 10K, and half-marathon! We have always believed that performance and competitive motivation multiply when combined with hard work and dedication. Hence, our motto at Fury Athletix is Unleash Yourself. When you wear Fury, you can be confident you’ve got the X-factor working for you.
How do your hats help aid athletic performance?
Fury Athletix headwear is designed for athletes who aim to push the limits of their potential. Our hats are made to help athletes excel in any environment and exceed expectations. Each hat is designed with a specific function in mind, and all are made with light and breathable materials. From deep fit to low profile, Fury has you covered from start to finish.
Since we’re talking running here, we’ll focus on one of our best-selling hats. The ‘Sprinter’ is made from a lightweight taffeta material, which is both machine washable and absorbs moisture. This hat allows you to focus on what really matters most when you head out – the run. The reflective details are ideal for the early morning or nighttime runners, especially during the darker winter months.
Fury is made by athletes for athletes, so who are some of the athletes behind the hats?
It’s true! Everyone on our team is an athlete in their own right. A few examples include our founder and CEO, Jeff Medici, who is an avid golfer; and our COO, Lauren Carr, who is a runner and even volunteers with Girls on the Run. In addition, we have several professional athletes who serve as brand ambassadors for Fury Athletix including 3x NFL All-Pro and 3X Super Bowl Champion, Brent Jones; and professional tennis coach Mark Knowles who was ranked #1 doubles champion in the world and won all four Grand Slam tournaments in men’s/mixed doubles.
Why did you choose the name Fury – and what inspired the logo?
If you’re from the Dallas area or Southlake specifically, you’re likely familiar with the Carroll ISD Dragons. In honor of the school’s mascot, we built an eight-ton, 28-foot-tall stainless-steel dragon with the largest wingspan of its type in the world. Fury the Dragon is located adjacent to our Airstream in the District 114 Plaza. The Fury name is inspired by the dragon and our logo can be seen on his tail. 
Why do you support local events such as the Pumpkin Spice 5k, 10k, half-marathon?
It is important to us to give back to the community that inspires us every day. In the spirit of cooperation with the school district, Fury Athletix donates $1.00 from each sale directly to the CISD. We also enjoy being involved in local events that support athletes at all levels.
The Pumpkin Spice 5k, 10k, half-marathon is a perfect example and that’s why we can’t wait to see you cross the finish line at this year’s event!
