Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance participants’ social, emotional and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. Our fun, interactive lessons meet the unique needs of participants of all abilities and backgrounds. The mission of Girls on the Run DFW Metroplex (GOTR DFW) is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Since 2004, GOTR DFW has proudly served over 10,000 girls in grades 3rd through 8th in Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Ellis, Johnson, Rockwall, Kaufman, Grayson and Denton Counties. Since our council’s inception, we have unlocked the power and potential of our participants and made a lasting impact on our community through participant-led service projects. GOTR DFW envisions a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Girls on the Run offers programs designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength and make meaningful connections with others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills while encouraging healthy habits for life. In today’s unpredictable world, the strategies learned at Girls on the Run are more important than ever. Teaching critical life skills is the cornerstone of the Girls on the Run research-based programs. Meeting in small teams, trained volunteer coaches inspire girls of all abilities to strengthen confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity. Our lessons include running activities and games that culminate in a celebratory 5K to commemorate the girls’ time with us and to highlight the lessons they have learned along the way. With capes, tutus, and plenty of glitter to go around, our girls teach us a very important lesson: it’s never too early, or too late, to realize you are unstoppable!

How can Run Project runners help empower young girls?

With your gift, you are helping a girl unleash her limitless potential. You are giving her a place where she feels accepted and understood, a place where she can connect with her peers, gain confidence and discover her true power and potential. A place where she belongs. Together, we can ensure that every girl has the tools and strategies she needs to be joyful, confident and healthy. There are many ways to give, we are here to help you find the right opportunity to support girls in our community. https://www.gotrdfw.org/ways-to-give

We invite you to join us by helping us financially to expand to more schools and offer scholarships to girls who otherwise would not be able to afford this transformational program. Over half of the girls enrolled in the GOTR DFW program are scholarship-based. With the help of donations from Run Project runners, we will be able to provide scholarships to any girl that has the desire to be in the GOTR program but lacks the financial stability to join. Every donation from Run Project runners will go towards providing scholarships and support for the GOTR DFW program.

Sponsorships, donors, volunteers, and other charitable organizations make what we do

program but wholeheartedly support our mission, values, and passion regarding the
