Spring + Trail Running

Join us on April 23, 2016 and experience the beauty of Spring in North Texas. Get away from the streets and onto the trail in our & 5 & 10 mile trail runs. We will have amazing post-race food too. We invite you to join us for snacks and beer for after the race. As you may know, this race has been held on the LLELA property at Lake Lewisville. The Core of Engineers have made the Lewisville Dam and the lower property just below the dam off limits until the dam can be repaired due to all the recent flooding. We have no choice but to find a new home for our races in Lewisville. We are thrilled to head back to Ft. Worth, and introduce you to the Trinity Trails and the awesome venue on the river.

Tucked into the folds of the soft rolling hills of north central Texas, situated beneath the Lewisville Dam, the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) occupies a unique ecological position in the landscape of North America. It is here where the northwestern-most extent of the bottomland forests stretch fingers into the southern end of the tallgrass prairie of the Midwest; where the Elm Fork of the Trinity River winds its way out of the sandy uplands of the dry Cross Timbers into the deep, rich soils of the Blackland prairies; where agricultural lands intergrade with ranching and a rapidly growing urban expanse.

The mandate of the LLELA consortium is to develop the area for the preservation and restoration of native habitat and biodiversity, to provide environmental education, and support environmental research. To learn more, visit the LLELA Website.
